This is turning out to be a very wet autumn and winter. We've had so much rain recently that some areas of the garden have become waterlogged. And the patio in the flower garden where we like to take our morning tea has become covered in a film of slippery green algae.
Stepping on to the patio was becoming far too dangerous so we dragged the pressure washer out of the storeroom and set to work cleaning down the paviors one at a time. There’s a fashion at the moment to create stunning pieces of artwork by carefully manipulating the lance and using it like a pencil to draw images within the algae. Unfortunately time and skill were not on our side and we were just happy to end up with clean, bright stones, where we could drink our tea without ending up in A&E.
